Introducing Rebel Flock...

Because my geese are flying north in the Fall!

This was such a fun quilt to put together! You know how I love HSTs. The quilt measures just under 46" x 58" and is made with 5 yellow fat quarters, 3 purple fat quarters and 2 yards of Kona Coal. How simple is that.

I got the perfect yellow and purple fabrics from my friend Brenda of Pink Castle Fabrics. Brenda has a great stock of the best modern and basic fabrics and there was no way I could resist this group. Even better, Brenda is sponsoring a giveaway of the same bundle of purples and yellows that I used. All you have to do to enter is click over to Pink Castle Fabrics and leave a comment telling me which bundle or fabric from Pink Castle Fabrics you like best. I'll draw a winner at the end of the day (US EDT) on Friday, October 28.

If you can't wait that long or you aren't the lucky winner, Pink Castle Fabrics will be featuring an Esch House Quilts blog bundle in the shop.

For a limited time, you can also get the pattern for free under my "Free Projects" tab above.

I'm going to enter Rebel Flock in Rachel at Stitched in Color's October Celebrate Color contest.  It is so much fun to look at the other entries and be inspired.  Last month I entered something purple and yellow too!  The contest continues in November - I think I'd better come up with a different color palette for next month!

PS  Be sure I can reach you in case you win!

  1. It's a toss up: the black/grey bundle or the Hideaway Cuckoo Clocks. Bundles are great in neutral colors, but one perfect 1/2 yard of a gorgeous colorway is irresitible. Thanks for the giveaway. Your HST quilt is great!

  3. I like anything that looks woven - the Moda CrossWeave in Natural, but there are Alexander Henry and Kaffe Fassett versions of that in her store, also.

  8. This is an amazing quilt - I love it
The simple difference in using the HST in one section makes such a fantastic design - I can visualise one with a horizontal or vertical strip of geese like this - so many possibilities - well done

  17. I really love the yellow and purples that you used. The yellows in that bundle go so well together and I feel like that can be hard to accomplish.

  20. what an awesome looking quilt. I just saw it over at Quilt Inspiration and had to come check it out.

I really love the Tis Almost the Season - Christmas Holiday Red Green White bundle they've got. That would be a great bunch of fabrics.

I also really like the bundle for you since my favorite color is purple. That bundle for your choice would have been my first choice if they didn't have that holiday bundle. What's funny is that my high school colors were purple and gold. lol
